At Bharat Abhyudaya Foundation (BAF), we believe that lasting social transformation begins by investing in people, especially children and young people whose potential can shape the future of our communities and nation.

Education is at the heart of this transformation: it builds knowledge, confidence, agency and the ability to make informed choices. Since our inception, BAF has been committed to advancing equitable and quality education while strengthening institutions and community systems that enable children and young people to learn, thrive and fulfil their aspirations. We are particularly committed to rural youth development, recognising young people not merely as beneficiaries of development, but as agents of change, leaders and partners in community transformation. Through leadership development, skills enhancement, community engagement and opportunities for meaningful participation, we seek to nurture their capabilities, aspirations and pathways towards a dignified and productive future.

We are equally convinced that human development is multidimensional. Education cannot flourish in isolation from health, nourishment, wellbeing and a supportive community environment. Our work therefore seeks to bring together education, rural youth development, health and nourishment through a people-centred, evidence-informed and partnership-driven approach. By working alongside government, civil society, communities and development partners, BAF strives to strengthen local capacities, foster community ownership, improve access to opportunities and contribute to resilient and responsive systems. Our vision is of a society where every child and young person, irrespective of their social or economic circumstances, has the opportunity to learn, stay healthy, develop their capabilities, exercise agency and participate meaningfully in shaping their own future and that of their communities. This is the change we aspire to advance, and the commitment that continues to guide BAF’s journey.
