Bharat Abhyudaya Foundation (BAF) is a non-profit organisation registered under the Societies Registration Act and established in 2012 by professionals from diverse academic and professional backgrounds. BAF works to advance equitable and sustainable development by strengthening opportunities, capabilities and systems that enable children, young people and communities to achieve improved educational, health and socio-economic outcomes.

BAF was founded on a simple but powerful belief: access to quality education, supportive institutions and equal opportunities can transform lives and create pathways for long-term social change. The Foundation’s founding members experienced the transformative power of education in their own lives and careers, and this experience continues to shape BAF’s commitment to ensuring that children and young people, particularly those from underserved communities, have the opportunity to learn, develop their capabilities and realise their aspirations.

Over the years, BAF has developed its work around education and institutional strengthening, working closely with government institutions, civil society organisations, communities and other development partners in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Its programme focus has evolved to address interconnected development priorities including education, rural youth development, health and nourishment, skill development, leadership development and community development.
